MIND/BODY DISTRESS: MANAGING IBS

Living with irritable bowel syndrome is possibly the worst. You’re stuck near a bathroom all day, or you’re stuck without one. This treatment package provides you with psychoeducation about the brain/body connection along with coping tools, relaxation strategies, and behavioral practices designed to lessen the impact of your symptoms on your mood and quality of life. This approach is based on CBT techniques and the latest understanding of the psychological contributors to IBS.

REBOOT: HABIT CHANGE

Do it. Change something—exercise daily, read more, eat better food, spend money wisely. We use time-tested techniques from CBT, ADHD management, mindfulness, and positive psychology to help you identify which variables in your life you want to tweak, to make a concrete strategy for change, and to use outcomes analysis to identify any roadblocks and drive success.

MINDFUL LIFE

If you haven’t heard about mindfulness and the health benefits, you may be living under a rock. While you can download terrific apps to help you get started with mindfulness and a meditation practice, our package allows you to have a customized, individualized experience to cultivate mindfulness in a way that fits your lifestyle.

MAKE A DECISION/SOLVE A PROBLEM

If you have an important decision to make—do I take that job, have that kid, adopt a rescue, apply to law school, move to Portland?—you may find a double-hit of sessions helps to clarify the situation and prepare you for the choice. We’ll use cognitive psychology principles to enlighten and guide the process for you.

BOOSTER SESSIONS

If you’ve tried other packages at Therapy Lab and want to come back for additional sessions, try a Booster or several. Or use this option if you’d like to experience working with different therapists in preparation for a bigger Therapy Lab adventure.
