Try-a-Therapist Session

Before you commit to a goal or treatment, try meeting with a therapist for a less structured, casual session. You can decide if the therapist is a good fit for you, learn more about packages, and explore your needs with one of us.

BOOSTER SESSIONS

If you’ve tried other packages at Therapy Lab and want to come back for additional sessions, try a Booster or several. Or use this option if you’d like to experience working with different therapists in preparation for a bigger Therapy Lab adventure.

MAKE A DECISION/SOLVE A PROBLEM

If you have an important decision to make—do I take that job, have that kid, adopt a rescue, apply to law school, move to Portland?—you may find a double-hit of sessions helps to clarify the situation and prepare you for the choice. We’ll use cognitive psychology principles to enlighten and guide the process for you.

KNOW YOURSELF: STRENGTHS, VALUES, BLIND SPOTS

Using the extraordinary research of the Positive Psychology Center (UPenn) and QOLT (Quality of Life Treatment), we provide you with the latest measures to identify your character strengths and areas of resilience. We help you identify what's important to you and what’s not. We help you change or adapt to aspects of yourself you don’t enjoy! You’ll learn how to manage your time and change your habits to move towards more fulfillment and effectiveness in your life.

ADULTING: LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE IN EARLY ADULTHOOD

In early adulthood, the cards are being dealt and it’s time to choose your hand. We use good old-fashioned behavior activation and planning, along with interventions for motivation and procrastination. We explore primary relationships, personal finances, career, unique burdens and visions, and general lifestyle #goals.

RELATIONSHIP TONIC: FRIENDS, DATING, AND BREAKUPS

Stress in friendships, dating apps, and breakups often drive people to therapy. Using CBT, DBT, and mindfulness techniques, we provide help for individuals. We offer an objective point-of-view on the ups-and-downs of being a social animal, driven to socialize but sometimes driven nuts by other people, too. With this package, we help you identify interpersonal patterns that affect your relationships and practice strategies for reinvention.

MINDFUL LIFE

If you haven’t heard about mindfulness and the health benefits, you may be living under a rock. While you can download terrific apps to help you get started with mindfulness and a meditation practice, our package allows you to have a customized, individualized experience to cultivate mindfulness in a way that fits your lifestyle.
